Bluelight Named Most-Used Microsoft Dynamics Partner in UK Membership Sector | DX2026

Bluelight has been named the most-used Microsoft Dynamics partner in the UK membership sector, according to the MemberWise Digital Excellence 2026 Report.

The report, now in its tenth edition, is based on feedback from circa 480 membership body managers, department heads and directors surveyed between March and November 2025. As a MemberWise Network member, we follow this benchmark closely each year as part of our ongoing work with membership organisations. It remains the most established reference point for digital strategy, system adoption and emerging technology trends. Providers in the Association Management Systems section are listed by usage among respondents, with Bluelight appearing first among Microsoft Dynamics platform partners.

The continued adoption of Microsoft Dynamics within the membership sector reflects a growing confidence in industry-standard platforms.
Bluelight, being the most-used Microsoft Dynamics partner in our research, reflects the trust membership organisations place in their approach. They've spent over 10 years focused solely on this sector, and that depth of experience clearly resonates with the organisations choosing a Dynamics partner.

Ten Years Focused on Membership Organisations

We started Bluelight with a fairly simple idea: focus on one sector and get really good at it. Membership organisations, professional bodies, trade unions and charities. That’s all we’ve done since.

Over ten years, that focus has given us a deep understanding of how membership teams operate, the pressures they’re under, the systems they rely on, and what happens when those systems don’t integrate properly. Our work has always been about building connected systems that help organisations see which members are engaged, which are drifting, and where to act.

Microsoft Dynamics Adoption Grows Across UK Membership Bodies

The report shows Microsoft Dynamics now holds 28% of the overall AMS market, with particularly strong adoption among medium-sized membership bodies where it accounts for 45% of systems in use. That represents the most significant platform shift in this year’s data, overtaking the Salesforce growth reported in the previous edition.

Across the sector, the movement away from bespoke and specialist systems continues. Among medium-sized organisations, bespoke systems now account for just 36%. The direction is clear: membership bodies are choosing established platforms with sector-experienced partners to implement them.

Umbraco Ranked Most-Used CMS Among Medium and Large Membership Bodies

Alongside Microsoft Dynamics, we’ve built our web practice on Umbraco, which, in the same report, has been named as the most-used CMS among both medium and large membership bodies.
It’s a pairing that works because it reflects how membership organisations actually operate: CRM and website as one connected experience, not two separate systems. The report’s findings confirm that this technology combination is now the most common among mid-to-large membership organisations.

What the DX2026 Report Reveals About Sector Pressures

Beyond technology choices, the DX2026 report paints a picture of a sector under real pressure to grow. New member acquisition has overtaken engagement as the top priority. Measuring member engagement online has become the single biggest challenge. And 77% of membership bodies report increased costs and workload.

At the same time, system integration is improving. CRM and website integration has risen to 66%, and organisations are reporting better outcomes from those integrations than in previous years. The foundations are being laid. The next step is using connected systems to actually measure and improve the member experience.

We’re genuinely proud of this result. And grateful to the clients who’ve trusted us to do the work that got us here.
